Sassoon, Flora, 1859-1936

The fond contains Flora Sassoon’s personal archive which consists of a number of series: Series 1. Family Letters, comprising letters sent to Flora Sassoon from close family members. Series 2. Diaries & Notebooks, comprising Flora’s notebooks, diaries, reference books bearing her handwritten comments and letterbooks containing copies of outgoing letters, written by Flora and her household. Series 3. Accounting, Business and Financial Documents, including account books and financial and business documents, concerning the family business especially during the years that she was managing the David Sassoon & Co., and franchises she dealt with after the death of her husband Salomon David Sassoon in 1894. The series also includes legal documents mostly concerning disputes over real estate in Bombay after Flora left for London in 1901. Series 4. Flora Sassoon's Documents and Artifacts, comprising Flora Sassoon's personal documents, letters received by her and some of her belongings.
