Falconer Larkworthy (born 1833), a banker, had his early career in Mauritius and Australia where he arrived in 1855, beginning in Melbourne and subsequently being posted to Kilmore. The 12 volumes of reminiscences were published in 1924 and based on the diaries which he had kept from 1849.
