Stoddard, Haila
Variant namesHaila Stoddard is known for her work as an actor, producer, writer and director. Born in Great Falls, Montana, Stoddard moved to Los Angeles, California, where she obtained a degree from the University of Southern California. In 1934 Stoddard made her first stage appearance at the Belasco, Los Angeles, in the play Merrily We Roll Along . During her career as an actress Stoddard appeared in a number of plays, movies, and television series including sixteen years as Pauline Rysdale in "The Secret Storm" (1954-1970). Stoddard's career took her across the United States and spanned theatrical genres (including comedy, drama, revue, and romance). Stoddard also worked as a producer, both independently and with her production company, Bonard Productions Incorporated, which she created with Helen Bonfils in 1960. In addition to adapting plays such as Come Play with Me and Men, Women, and Less Alarming Creatures, Stoddard also wrote plays such as A Round With Ring (1969) and Zellerman, Arthur (1979).
