This letter, written by Raffles from Bencoolen, is to Sir Everard Home, physician and friend of Raffles. Sir Everard was a surgeon and the King's physician. Raffles was a founding member of the Zoological Society, with Home, who also supported Raffles' election to the Royal Society. Sir Everard performed Raffles' autopsy.
