R. Brognard Okie was born in Camden, New Jersey and received his bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1897. Okie is particularly known for his restoration and reconstruction of Pennsylvania's colonial and vernacular structures, and his rehabilitiation of existing buildings to colonial style.
