Moodie, Susanna, 1803-1885
Variant namesMoodie was an English-born immigrant to Canada in 1832 after her marriage to John Moodie. She was active in the antislavery movement in England. In Ontario they settled in the then "frontier" area of Ontario. She wrote poetry and novels and is most remembered for her work, Roughing it in the bush; or, life in Canada (London, 1852).
