Jack Rosenthal's family moved to Buffalo, Wyoming in 1938. He received a B.A. in History from the University of Wyoming in 1952. He was in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea from 1953 to1954. He was responsible for the establishment of the Committee for the Milward L. Simpson Professorship in Political Science Fund at the University of Wyoming. The Fund was activated on October 26,1974.
