Born: John Harvey Wheeler, Waco, Texas, Oct. 17, 1918; died: Santa Barbara, California, September 6, 2004. CSDI: Staff, 1961-1964; Fellow/Senior Fellow, 1965-1975; Program Director, 1969-1975. Taught political science at Harvard, Johns Hopkins and Washington & Lee University before coming to the Center.
