David Harris Willson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1901. He earned his bachelor's degree in history from Haverford College (Haverford, PA) in 1921 and his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1925. Dr. Willson joined the faculty in the history department at the University of Minnesota in 1924. His area of emphasis was the Tudor-Stuart period and general English history. In 1967, his text History of England was published.
