Peyre, Marie-Joseph, 1730-1785
Variant namesFrench architect. Known as Peyre the elder, his work on archaeology and on ancient architecture was one of the essential sources of inspiration for Neoclassicism in the latter part of the 18th century. Peyre studied with Blondel.
