Hickok (1893-1968) was a close friend of Eleanor Roosevelt. She was assigned to cover Mrs. Roosevelt during the 1932 Presidential campaign. She worked with the Federal Emergency Relief Administration, 1933-1936, and was the author of several books on Eleanor Roosevelt and Helen Keller.
