Ellsberg, Edward, 1891-1983
Variant namesEllsberg was educated at the U.S. Naval Academy (1914) and at MIT. He served in the U.S. Navy 1914-1926, 1928 and 1941-1951, retiring as a rear admiral. In the Navy he distinguished himself as an expert in underwater salvage and rescue. In addition, he wrote on expeditions, naval matters and fiction. He died Jan. 24, 1983.
