Brunton, T. Lauder (Thomas Lauder), 1844-1916
Variant namesSir Thomas Lauder Brunton, 1844-1916, was born in Scotland, but spent the majority of his career in London. In 1867 he discovered that amyl nitrate effectively relieved pain of angina pectoris. Brunton is credited with developing the discipline of pharmacology.
