Lynn, Kenneth Schuyler.

Kenneth Schulyer Lynn (1928-2001), historian and a scholar of Mark Twain, Charlie Chaplin, and Ernest Hemingway, began his teaching career at Harvard University as Tutor in American History and Literature in 1950. He subsequently served as Instructor in History and Literature and General Education (1954-1955), Assistant Professor of English (1955-1959), Associate Professor of English (1959-1963) and Professor of English (1963-1968). Lynn served as Professor of American Studies at Federal City College in Washington D.C. from 1968 to 1969. A year later he moved to John Hopkins University as the Arthur O. Lovejoy Professor of History, serving until his retirement in 1989.
