Born December 8, 1927, Tampa, Fla.; trained as a physician and pharmacist; served as "corner man" for twelve boxing world champions, including Muhammad Ali; television boxing analyst for twenty-five years; received awards for his bold, colorful paintings based on his life in Ybor City, Tampa, Fla.; author of fourteen books on boxing, cookery, and Ybor City history and culture.
