Margi Preus is the author of children's books, as well as comic plays and operas, comedy sketches, radio shows, and a variety of short fiction. She worked for 20 years as an artistic director for Colder by the Lake Comedy Theatre in Duluth, Minnesota. She also teacher children's literature at the College of St. Scholastica and teaches on occasion at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Her book The Peace Bell is a finalist for the Northeastern Minnesota Book Award and is on the 2009 Cooperative Children's Book Center Choices List. She also co-authored the book The Legend of the Lady Slipper with Lise Lunge-Larsen. Preus currently lives in Duluth, Minnesota, where she enjoys hiking and skiing.
