Amy Krouse Rosenthal was born on April 29, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. She received a degree from Tufts University and also attended Sorbonne, University of Paris. In addition to writing books for children and adults, Rosenthal has been a freelance writer, National Public Radio contributor, T-shirt company founder, advertising copywriter, and creator of humorous note cards. She has been featured in Newsweek, the New York Times, and O, the Oprah Magazine . Rosenthal has published nearly ten children's books since 2005, which feature humorous takes on etiquette, dealing with rotten days, and other life lessons. She is married with three children and lives in Chicago.
