Roos, Joanna, 1901-1989
Variant namesJoanna Roos, an American actress and author, was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1901. She appeared on Broadway from 1921 until the late 1960s, working with such actors as Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. She acted in the San Diego and New York Shakespeare Festivals, as well as in films and television. She retired in 1979 from the soap opera ''Love of Life.'' Roos was a founding member of the New Dramatists Committee. Several of the plays she wrote for the group won awards.
