Margaret Stones was born in Australia but has lived in London since 1951. She studied and trained as an artist at the Swinburne and National Gallery Art Schools in Melbourne. She is the artist of a six-volume work entitled "The Endemic Flora of Tasmania".

Biography

Margaret Stones, botanical artist, served for twenty-five years as the principal illustrator for Curtis's Botanical Magazine and worked under commission for the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, England. She is the author of The endemic flora of Tasmania (1967) and Flora of Louisiana (1991).
