Chamberlain, John Loomis, 1858-1948
Variant namesJohn Loomis Chamberlain (b. 1858, New York-d. 1948), Major General in the U. S. Army, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1880 and served until his retirement in 1921. He took part in the Spanish-American War (1898-1899), the fighting with the Sioux Indians (1900-1901), the struggle against the Moros of the Philippines in 1903, and during World War I, inspecting the American Expeditionary Forces in France in 1918.
