Andrew Spielman, 1930- , BS, 1952, Colorado College; ScD, 1956, Johns Hopkins University, received his first appointment at the Harvard School of Public Health in 1959. He became Professor of Tropical Public Health and heads the research laboratory of Public Health Entomology. Spielman also directs the Malaria Epidemiology Program within the Center for International Development at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Spielman's research focuses on vector-borne diseases including mosquito-borne illnesses.
