E.M. Delafield was the pseudonym of Edmee Elizabeth Monica Dashwood, daughter of the novelist, Mrs. Henry de la Pasture. E.M. Delafield wrote approximately 40 books and three plays. Delafield was also a popular lecturer and she travelled throughout the U.S. and Russia. She wrote primarily about country life and women, but she also wrote a book on the Brontes, studies in criminology and radio plays.
