Wagner, Martin, 1885-1957
Variant namesCity planner. Martin Wagner was born in Prussia in 1885, and received his education in Berlin and Dresden (doctorate in engineering, 1915). Served on Berlin public works board from 1918; board of directors of Deutschen Bauhütte, soziale Baugesellschaft m.b.H., 1920-1926 and directed the Deutschen Wohnungsfürsorge AG, 1924-1933. Taught at Graduate School of Design, Harvard University, 1938-1950, and authored Wirtschaftlicher Städtebau (1951). Died in 1957 a U.S. citizen.
