Wife of ex-Governor of Illinois, George Ryan, she chaired Futures for Kids which coordinated her husband's administrations policy and programs aimed at reducing juvenile delinquency, substance abuse and violence among Illinois. She was involved in the production of Made in Illinois, a catalog promoting the handicraft of Illinois artisans and a history of the Illinois executive mansion. She was president of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum Foundation and involved in many other organizations to benefit Illinois citizens.
