Henry (Harry) Rust Mighels and wife Nellie Verrill Mighels (1844-1945) were from Norway, Maine. Harry becoame owner of the Carson (City) daily appeal in 1865; they married in 1866 after a lengthy courtship by mail. After Harry's death in 1879 Nellie married Samuel Post Davis; she owned the newspaper until her death in 1945.
