Hyer, Paul
Variant namesPaul Hyer is a professor of history at BYU and the first coordinator of Asian Studies. He has traveled extensively through China and has devoted his academic life to the study of China and Mongolia. He was born in 1914. Sechim Jagchid was born and raised in Mongolia. He was educated at the University of Peking and has taught at the National Taiwan University, National Cheng-Chi University and BYU, where he is currently a professor of history.
