Giacomelli, Mario. Italian Photographer. Born: Senigallia, Ancona, 1 August 1925. Education: Attended schools in Senigallia, 1935-40; studied typography; self-taught in photography, from 1945. Military Service: Served in the Italian Army, 1944. Family: Married Anna Giacomelli in 1954; children: Rita, Neris and Simone. Career: Worked as a shop assistant, later becoming the proprietor, of a typography workshop, Senigallia, from 1938. Professional typographer, and independent photographer, Senigallia, since 1953. Member, La Bussola group of photographers, 1956. Recipient: Numerous medals and prizes in national photography competitions, Italy, since 1955. Published Mario Giacomelli, fotografie, edited by Angelo Schwarz, Ivrea, Italy 1980. Died November 25, 2000, at the age of 75, Milan, Italy.
