Variant namesResident of Lincoln, Illinois who served in the Illinois General Assembly, 1890-1892, 1900-1904, as chief justice of the Illinois Court of Claims, 1905-1913, U.S. Representative, 1913-1915, and judge of Logan County, Ill., 1918-1942. He ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 1908 and 1914. Also wrote on Abraham Lincoln and the history of Logan County.
