Kesteven, H. Leighton (Hereward Leighton), 1881-1964
Variant namesDr. H.L. Kesteven was Director of the Medical Section of the Civil Construction Corps. The Civil Construction Corps was the construction area of the Allied Works Council set up in world War 2 for the defence infrastructure for Australian, U.S. and British forces in Australia. The Civil Construction Corps built roads, airfields, barracks, munitions factories, etc. Items 1 and 18-20 were inserted in the collection by Marcus Ahrens who was researching the history of the Allied Works Council and the Civil Construction Corps.
