Capitol Correspondents Association (Baton Rouge, La.)

The Capitol Correspondents Association of Baton Rouge, La., and the Central Louisiana Press Club of Alexandria, La., are both not-for-profit organizations that support journalists who report on state and local government and politics. Both associations perform annual gridiron shows, which provide an opportunity to roast the political figures they cover. The Capitol Correspondents Association Gridiron Show began in 1951, while the Central Louisiana Press Club show began in 1968. The proceeds from the shows support scholarship programs for journalism students, as well as other local charities.
