DeWitt Clinton Smith, Jr. was a United States (U.S.) Army officer who served in the European Theater of Operations of World War II (WWII), the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He rose to the rank of lieutenant general and was commandant of the U.S. Army War College in 1974. Smith later became director of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, Harrisburg and a lecturer at Shippensburg State University.
