Actor and comedian whose long career included stage, theatre, television and film performances. In the 1960s Grills entertained troops with his stand-up comedy routines during tours behind the lines in Vietnam. One of his best known roles was as 1970s television detective Bluey in the series of the same name. This character was resurrected some years later in the Bargearse segment on the Late Show, which screened on ABC television. In 2003, Grills published his autobiography entitled Just call me Lucky.
