Gaddis, William, 1922-1998
Variant namesWriter and author, William Gadis was born in New York City in 1922. His best known works include The Recognition (1955), JR (1975), Carpenters Gothic (1985), and A Frolic of His Own (1994). He is the recipient of many awards and honors for his literary accomplishments, including the New York State Edith Wheaton Citation of Merit and designation as State Author, 1993-1995.
