Granton, Charles Hope, Lord, 1763-1851
Variant namesCharles Hope studied law at the University of Edinburgh, and passed advocate in 1786. He was appointed justice and lord justice clerk of the Court of Session of Scotland in 1804 (assuming the title Lord Granton), and waslord president of the Court from 1811-1841.
