Ayers, Henry, 1821-1897
Variant namesSir Henry Ayers was a prominent figure in South Australian political and commercial affairs and was a former Premier of South Australia. He was born at Portsea, England, on 1 May 1821. On leaving school he entered a law office, and also worked for some time as a law clerk after coming to South Australia in 1840.
Sir James Fergusson, 6th Baronet GCSI, PC (14 March 1832 - 14 January 1907) was a British soldier, Conservative politician and colonial administrator.
