British architect. Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin (1812-1852), English architect, designer and author, was a leading figure in the Gothic Revival and the Oxford Movements. His designs include St. Chad's Cathedral, Birmingham, Balliol College, Oxford, and St. Augustine's Church, Ramsgate.
