Robert Alexander (b. Oct. 17, 1863, Md.-d. Aug. 26, 1941, Calif.), U.S. Army officer, received his commission as 2nd lieutenant in the 7th Infantry on December 17, 1889. He advanced through the ranks to brigadier general on Feb. 9, 1918, serving as Inspector General of the Line of Communications, A.E.F., in France, from November 1917 to February 1918, among other posts. He retired from Army service on October 17, 1927.
