Marylee Daniel Mitcham was born April 4, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the only child of Phyllis Robinson Daniel and Hugh McCall Daniel. She began writing short stories, articles, poems, and book reviews in 1973. In 1976 she wrote and published An accidental monk : her domestic search for God. She became a registered nurse and later an acupuncturist. She currently lives in Colorado with her husband, Carl Mitcham.
