Catron, John, approximately 1786-1865
Variant namesCatron was the first chief justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court (1831-1834), and was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1837. Sarah Grier Beck was the daughter of Robert Cooper Grier, a justice of the Supreme Court.
