Judge Moore graduated from Etowah High School in Attalla, Alabama, in 1965 and from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1969 where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Arts and Engineering. He then served in the U.S. Army as a company commander with the Military Police Corps in Vietnam. Roy Stewart Moore (born February 11, 1947, Gadsden, Alabama) is an American politician and former Alabama state judge best known for being twice elected to and twice removed from the Alabama Supreme Court. He also is the founder and president of the Foundation for Moral Law. Moore is the Republican nominee in the 2017 special election to fill the United States Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions.
