Heinz Company, based in Pittsburgh, PA; founded F & J Heinz, 1876, one of first products was ketchup, as company grew, bought out other parterners and renamed it H. J. Heinz; H. J. Heinz Company was incorporated in 1905, Heinz served as its first president; the company was noted for fair treatment of workers and for pioneering safe and sanitary food preparation
