Johnson, William Samuel, 1727-1819

Johnson was the son of Samuel Johnson, Anglican clergyman and first president of King's College (Columbia University). He served in the Continental Congress from Connecticut and signed the U.S. Constitution, served in the U.S. Senate (1789-1791) and eventually as president of Columbia University. He spent time in England from 1767-1771.
