Jones, Absalom, 1746-1818
Absalom Jones, born 1746, Sussex County, Del.; died Feb. 13, 1818 in Philadelphia PA. He was an African American minister and founder of one of the earliest Black churches, African Episcopal Church, which was an outgrowth of the Free African Society.
