Tracy, Benjamin F. (Benjamin Franklin), 1830-1915
Benjamin F. Tracy, a lawyer, served as Secretary of the Navy, 1889-1893, where he presided over the development of the Modern Navy and the increase in the number of battleships and the formation of a naval reserve. He resumed his law practice in New York in 1893 and died there in 1915.
