Wheaton, Henry, 1785-1848
American legal scholar, first Ambassador to the Court of Berlin, and author of the first great American work on international law. Reynolds became Governor of Missouri during the Civil War. At the time of this letter he was a student at Heidelberg and had just finished his dissertation.
