Hutchinson, J. Edward (Jesse Edward), 1914-1985

Jesse Edward Hutchinson was born on October 13, 1914 in Fennville, Michigan. He received an A.B. from the University of Michigan in 1936, and a J.D. from Michigan in 1938. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946. Hutchinson was a Michigan State Representative (Republican) from 1947 to 1950, a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1948, a Michigan State Senator from 1951 to 1960, and a delegate to the Michigan Constitutional Convention from 1961 to 1962. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1962, serving Michigan's 4th Congressional District from 1962 to 1976. He retired in 1977, and died on July 24, 1985 in Naples, Florida.
