Meynell, Wilfrid, 1852-1948
Wilfrid Meynell was an English man of letters. Born in Newcastle, he converted to Catholicism at the age of eighteen. He wrote articles, poems, and stories, and edited journals such as The Weekly Register and Merry England. His wife Alice was also a writer, and their son Francis founded Nonesuch Press.
