Grazia Deledda (b. 28 September 1871, Nuoro, Italy–d. 15 August 1936, Rome, Italy) was the first Italian woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1926. She published her first novel in 1892 and often wrote about life in Sardinia
