There is considerable speculation as to the authenticity of these tablets, as cited by the scribes and correspondents, owing to the discrepancies of dates and events as well as an excessive zeal toward Christianity attributed to the Moors. The tablets were claimed to date from ca. 60 A.D. Spanish; CastilianItalianGetty Research InstituteChevrot, Jean. La Jeunesse de Néron [dissertation], 1961 May 2.Chevrot, Jean.La Jeunesse de Néron [dissertation], 1961 May 2.1 v. (227 pages). The collection consists of Jean Chevrot's dissertation written under the direction of Professor (Marcel?) Durry and completed 1961 May 2. The subject is the youth of the Roman emperor Nero until the time of his ascendency. Chevrot analyzes Nero's upbringing in preparation for his role as emperor, and places it within the specific historical and political context of the first half of the first century A.D. He points out that what would have been considered exceptional honors in Republican Rome were more common for Imperial youths at this time. (ca. 1600 p.)The collection comprises ca. 1600 pages of Latin manuscripts bound in four volumes. The first two might contain texts from earlier periods. They are not mentioned among Casali's printed works. Volumes 3 and 4 contain a mixture of chapters of his four books published between 1644 and 1650, and compilations from reference texts, a few of the latter in secretary hands. The fascicles were bound at random. The first volumes are cleaner and easier to read; the last two are rough drafts of the published books, heavily edited, corroded and stained. All volumes are paginated in pencil.
