Paul Ehrlich was a scientist and the winner of the 1908 Nobel Prize Physiology or Medicine.
Rufus Ivory Cole served as the the director and physician-in-charge (1909-1937) of the Hospital of the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research, the first hospital in the United States devoted primarily to the investigation of disease.
